Men typically don’t follow a skincare regimen that consists of anything more than waking up and washing their face, hair, and body with a 3-in-1 cleanser. However, washing with a 3-in-1 doesn’t equal putting your best face forward. A man’s skincare routine can be fast and effective. Here are three great tips every man should know about skin care:

1.       Use the right cleanser – Bar soap is not meant for use on the face unless it specifically says so. Generally, bar soaps dry out the skin, making it look dull and lifeless. Bar soaps and rough cleansers can also induce wrinkles much earlier than they should be appearing. Using the right cleanser for your skin type can do wonders for the way your skin looks and feels. If you aren’t sure about which skin type you have, opt for a gentle daily face cleanser. To save time in the morning, use your face cleanser in the shower.

2.       Use quality razors – Most men shave at least once a day. Using cheap or dull razors can wreak havoc on your skin. Spend a little extra to invest in quality razors. Quality razors can last indefinitely if you invest in interchangeable blades and replace them when you should. Depending on how much you shave, you should change your blade at least once a week. Using a good razor will cut down on dry skin and the obvious nicks caused by dulling blades.

3.       Moisturize – Body lotion is not an effective facial moisturizer for a number of reasons. Depending on your skin type, body lotion can dry out your face, creating wrinkles and dull skin, or cause pimples by introducing more oil to the face than needed. Invest in a good quality facial moisturizer appropriate for your skin type. Those with oily skin prone to breakouts should be using an oil-free (hypoallergenic) moisturizer. For those with dry skin, oil-free can still be beneficial, just make sure you’re using a good quality moisturizer. Cheap moisturizers that are meant for all skin types can make dry skin even drier. Apply moisturizer right after you cleanse. Find great moisturizers  and all of your other skincare products at www.himistry.com
